Why Education?

Nepal has seen significant growth in educational institutions over the past 50 years, but the quality of education has yet to keep up with this expansion. The education system in Nepal lacks innovation and relies heavily on imitating the Indian education system. There are also challenges for females in accessing education. 37% of girls in Nepal get married before the age of 18, and 10% are married by the age of 15. 33% of the country’s population consists of youth between the ages of 10 years and 24 years. The current situation has resulted in an increasing number of young people migrating due to a lack of quality education and job opportunities.

What do we do?

In response to these issues, KITES is working to provide quality education for children from the Chepang community by offering them accommodation, study materials, tuition, and other academic necessities. Also rather than providing awareness classes, KITES focuses on creating opportunities for the youth through upskilling and volunteer-based activities.
